Coconuts from different regions offer different taste characteristics and nutritional profiles due to soil and climate conditions, so we’re continuously searching for the best tasting coconuts. Currently, the majority of ZICO coconuts come from Thailand and all of our products are produced there.
It is in Thailand that we source “Nam Hom” coconuts. Nam Hom means “aromatic water.” These coconuts can only be found growing on dwarf palm trees in one of the four provinces to the West and South West of Bangkok. Just as winemakers perfect their craft with the “terroir” and growing conditions, ZICO develops our coconut blend starting with a rich, dark alluvial soil. Our farmers hand-select each coconut to ensure the best combination of Nam Hom and mature coconuts is placed in the production line. This creates the perfect level of sweetness that consumers know and love (without any added sugar). And a distinctive nutty flavor that can only be found in Nam Hom coconuts.
Our Natural 100% Coconut Water has five naturally occurring electrolytes- magnesium, sodium, calcium, phosphorous, and potassium. In fact, one bottle of ZICO Natural 100% Coconut Water contains as much potassium as a small banana.
We use a process called Ultra High Temperature Pasteurization to ensure the safety and shelf stability of the product.
